Answer: D) This solvent is derived from non-edible renewable resources such as
corncobs and expanding by-product of food and the
biofuel industries. Methyl-Tetrahydrofuran is a THF alternative that is
being
promoted as being more ecologically friendly. It is a direct substitute
of petroleum-derived ethers (THF) and volatile chlorinated solvents
(DCM).
MeTHF facilitates green costs savings through the reduction of process
mass intensity (PMI) at source and is easier to recycle. As
